Data Validation Dashboards
IREP has leveraged the University’s Argos BI reporting software to develop customized data validation dashboards, which will improve the quality of data submissions to the Student and Human Resource Data Marts of the General Administration. These dashboards provide administrative units with hands-on access to interpretive descriptions of data inconsistencies and clear instructions for correcting them.
Data Warehouse Modernization
IREP has deployed the infrastructure and application suite that serves as the foundation for the University’s next generation longitudinal data warehouse. IREP is in the process of migrating 36 years of institutional data and developing interactive analytics. New procedures are being developed to load data from various external sources such as surveys, IPEDS, and COPLAC into the warehouse to be utilized for Institutional Effectiveness KPIs and statistical modeling.
Data Collection Enhancements
IREP collaborated with the ITS, Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid, and Human Resource offices to implement 4 upgrades to the Student and HR Data Mart systems. Joint initiatives with these administrative units have resulted in streamlined business processes and increased data accuracy. IREP sits on various campus committees supporting data standardization, ownership, quality, security, and access. IREP also provides consultation to the UNC General Administration Office of Data and Analytics on data collection and reporting development.
